The HTC Desire 530 is a low-end Android smartphone available at a reasonable $159.99 to $179, with its claim to fame being the micro-splash polycarbonate shell. The micro-splash effect looks like something that happens when you shake a wet paint brush at a wall. HTC states that every one of the HTC Desire 530 phones is unique because of the application method of the finish.
While the HTC Desire 530 is an entry-level device, it's launching with Android 6 Marshmallow and has an amplified headphone jack and an 8-megapixel camera with a BSI sensor, so it should provide decent performance.
Specifications of the HTC Desire 530 include:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad-core 1.1 GHz processor
5-inch 1280 x 720-pixel resolution Super LCD display
1.5GB of RAM
16GB internal storage and microSD expansion card slot
8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera
2,200mAh battery
Dimensions of 146.9 x 70.9 x 8.3 mm and 140 grams
Colors: Blue Lagoon, Sprinkle White, or Stratus White
T-Mobile will sell the HTC Desire 530 in Sprinkle White for $159.99 or $6.67 for 24 months, starting 13 July. Verizon will also sell the Desire 530 this month.
HTC will sell an unlocked version in Sprinkle White directly from HTC.com for $179 later this month.
